The Role: What This Opportunity's All About

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Social Work Professional to join and lead the Christchurch Hospital's Social Work team as their Clinical Manager. With four direct reports and 51 indirect reports this is a key professional leadership role. You will be responsible for operationally managing the team on a daily basis, providing clinical leadership and strategic direction and collaborating with other managers to achieve optimisation of overall service provision. As a positive role model, you will be highly motivated with excellent communication skills with the ability to engage a large team. This role will require you to build successful relationships not only within the service but with our NGO and Agency partners also.

You will be working with a supportive Allied Health Clinical Managers Team and the CHCH Campus DAH.

This position is Permanent, Full Time, 40 hours per week with the requirement for flexibility around on call hours.

About you

To be successful in this leadership role, you will have significant experience as a Registered Social Worker, along with a current New Zealand Practicing Certificate. With your proven ability to lead and motivate a team you will ensure you succeed in this management position and facilitate the success of both your direct and indirect reports. You will have demonstrated ability to develop and maintain professional standards and clinical skills, with a strong commitment to quality consumer care. You will have an eagerness to contribute to the development of the service while maintaining a Clinical component to your work.
