The Role: What This Opportunity’s All About

This is a new and exciting initiative for Social Workers to cover night shifts in the Emergency Department. Social Work Services is looking for experienced health Social Worker’s with a commitment to providing quality care to consumers within the Emergency Department and ICU areas at Christchurch Hospital Campus.

You must be a qualified Social Worker with New Zealand Registration and/or ANZASW with competency. You’ll need excellent communication and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with all health providers; colleagues and team members. As part of a team, you will be working together to ensure the best service delivery and patient care, providing right person, right place, and right time intervention. You will need experience in Crisis Intervention and supporting families during this time, Care and Protection and Intimate Partner Violence.

• Permanent part-time (0.65 FTE) - mainly day shifts with capacity to cover night shifts for leave cover

We are looking for people who are:

• Registered Social Workers with Current Practicing Certificates
• Self-motivated and organised with the ability to juggle both direct client work and paperwork
• Adaptable, flexible and willing to grow with the role
• Positive in their approach to team work, and collaborative in a multi-agency and multi-disciplinary setting
• Excellent communicators both verbally and in writing
