About the role
As a Senior Advisor in the Regulatory Frameworks team you will be responsible for pro-actively building trusting relationships within WorkSafe, with the focus on developing proposals and advice to influence the regulatory framework that WorkSafe operates within. You willwork closely with MBIE and operational teams to do this and ensure WorkSafe's legislative framework is effectively implemented. The role will involve translating organisational purpose and intent into clearly defined proposals for regulatory change.
Duties
- Provide advice on legislation and policy to ensure good practice outcomes are implemented
- Mentor and support other advisors to achieve their outcomes
Skills & Experience
- Extensive experience in policy - leading and/or providing strategic and/or operational policy advice, ideally in a regulatory environment
- Excellent critical thinking and research skills
- The proven ability to engage in a professional manner, and be able to build credibility and trust with stakeholders at all levels
- The ability and proven track record in being able to influence and negotiate
- Strong listening and writing skills
- The ability to coach and mentor colleagues to assist with their professional development
- A real passion and desire to enhance your skill set in the regulatory environment
