We currently have a fantastic opportunity for someone to join our capable team as a Strategy & Policy Planner within a supportive and knowledgeable environment.

Our offices are based in the growing town of Rolleston which offers a great family lifestyle and is an easy drive away from the ski fields, rivers and hills that make up Canterbury's stunning landscape.

In this varied and challenging role, you will be involved in the development of the 2nd Generation Selwyn District Plan, as well as contributing to the development of strategic growth management tools such as Council policy and protocols, Asset planning and the LTP.

The successful candidate will have a relevant tertiary qualification in Planning, Resource Management or a related discipline which is recognised by the NZPI and will have several years' experience in a planning role either in local government or the private sector.

You will be self-motivated with the ability to relay information clearly and concisely, demonstrating a strong understanding and knowledge base of the Resource Management Act and related legislation along with possessing strong interpersonal skills, allowing you to building relationships and provide positive outcomes for the Council, key stakeholders and the wider community.
