  • Ensure that that products we deliver meet our stakeholder needs and requirements and maximise the benefits to them through a strong partnership approach

Reporting to the Manager Agency Engagement within New Zealand Government Procurement and Property (NZGPP), the Account Manager is the customer centric point of contact for key agencies with regard to government property and procurement activities within MBIE. You will be working as part of a team of Account Managers who ensure that the products and services provided by NZGPP meet the needs of the agency.  This also includes identifying areas where NZGPP can modify the services / products to provide better outcomes.

The Account Manager provides advice and assistance to agencies on how to maximise the benefits of NZGPP offerings. The role holder has an in-depth understanding of the agencies they service, their business and procurement / property needs and their strategic direction. They develop and document strategies to maximise the uptake of All-of-Government offerings by government agencies and those agencies not actively engaged in the NZGPP programme.

The Account Manager acts as a facilitator bringing the appropriate skills and resources together to meet the needs of the agency.

 

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Considerable account management experience in government, a regulatory environment or the private sector
  • Significant experience in influencing, developing and maintaining co-operative, partnering relationships and negotiating with stakeholders, potential suppliers, senior managers
  • Strong conflict management skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; demonstrated by credibility, personal or collaborative influence, managing expectations and targeted persuasion
  • Demonstrated ability to develop strategies which result in a change in the level of engagement by customers or potential customers
  • Considerable experience professionally representing an organisation to senior levels across government or the private sector
  • High degree of political nous and a strong working knowledge of the machinery of government
  • Considerable experience in dealing with ambiguity in a complex and dynamic environment
  • Experience acting as a facilitator, bringing appropriate skills and resources together to meet the needs of a customer
