The Role: What This Opportunity's All About

The Ashburton and Rural Health Services incorporates acute, inpatient, primary birthing, community and aged residential care services some of which are delivered in a number of health facilities across rural Canterbury. Models of care in these communities include working in an integrated way with primary care teams, and for Ashburton hospital working in partnership with Rural Hospital Medical Specialists (RHMS). This role provides operational and professional nursing leadership.

As the Nursing Director, you will be responsible for the provision of effective professional leadership and clinical oversight for nursing within the division. You will be dedicated to implementing a sustainable clinical governance practice that reflects optimal nursing service delivery and effective system change. While providing professional leadership for the work programme that ensures the provision of an educational framework for the nursing and hospital aid workforce in Ashburton and Rural.

To be successful in this role you will be a well experienced senior Registered Nurse, with a post-graduate qualification alongside proven passion, enthusiasm and general interest in the continuous development of the nursing model. You will have an adaptable and flexible working style and be able to travel outside of the Christchurch/Ashburton to the Rural Community Hospitals on a regular basis. You do not need to live in Ashburton to be successful in this role, if you live in Christchurch we could consider splitting your time between locations.
