Are you looking for an opportunity where you will make a tangible contribution to the security of New Zealand?
The New Zealand Intelligence Community’s (NZIC) Compliance Team are a group of people passionate about protecting and advancing New Zealand’s way of life and is looking for a Senior Risk Advisor with 2 – 3 years post qualification experience to join our busy Wellington Office.
Working with the Compliance Manager and other Advisers, you will be involved in managing strategic risk across NZSIS, in particular the development of a business continuity plan which supports NZSIS to deliver its operational outcomes in a variety of scenarios.
We are looking for someone with a qualification in risk management or similar, who has around 5 year’s broad experience in a compliance, risk or audit focussed role and/ or proven previous experience of organisation and strategic risk frameworks and management. You will also possess the following qualities:
- Demonstrated strategic, critical thinking and analytical skills
- Understanding of public sector management and accountability frameworks
- Understanding of financial management
- Experience in collaborating with and influencing others to achieve results
- Ability to self-manage, juggle competing workloads, and work under pressure to meet tight deadlines
- Highly effective oral and written communication skills including experience in developing and/or writing technical material for a wide range of audiences

Salary range: $68,316 - $102,474 circa.

To be eligible for employment within the NZIC you must have been a NZ citizen for at least 10 years. Alternatively you must hold NZ Permanent Residence or hold a current NZ Residency Class Visa and have been a citizen of UK, USA, Canada or Australia for at least 10 years.
You must be able to obtain and maintain a high level security clearance. Ordinarily to obtain this level of clearance candidates must have a 15 year checkable background in countries where meaningful and reliable checks can be undertaken. Where requisite checks are unable to be made, the candidate application may not be able to be progressed.
