Taggart Earthmoving was established in 1953 and today is a well recognised civil contractor that continues to expand its operations in the Canterbury region through long term business growth strategies, a commitment to working in partnership with their customers and a straight talking approach to get the job done.
The role of Project/Systems Accountant is a new position that is part of the finance team, but will work very closely with the construction/operations management team. Initially the focus will be to further develop the current business processes & systems and deliver improved performance reporting at project level. This will require you to get alongside the project managers and build your understanding of the different parts within the operations, but as you gain that knowledge your ability to influence and support the team will grow, which for the right person will make for a challenging and rewarding role. Longer term as the business develops there will also be scope for further development.
In seeking applications we are looking for experienced Accountants/Analysts who can bring a mixture of strong management accounting/reporting, business analysis and business process/systems skills. While you may have a relevant tertiary qualification we are more interested in the range of experience you can bring, along with the personal attributes that will see you comfortable working alongside and supporting the project managers. We are then looking to identify those candidates that are self-motivated, who have real continuous improvement focus and a positive solutions approach to problem solving.
