At Land Information New Zealand (LINZ), we underpin New Zealand's success with information about ‘where' - ensuring New Zealand has accurate information about where people and places are, that people have confidence in their property rights, now and for future generations.

The Overseas Investment Office (OIO) is an integral part of Land Information New Zealand, and will be implementing new legislation aimed at benefitting New Zealanders. Recent changes in the OIO mean we have an exciting opportunity for a Research Analyst to join the new Monitoring and Intelligence team.

The purpose of this key role is to support the work of the Overseas Investment regime decision makers through research into the good character of overseas investors and other investment matters.  Reporting to the Manager Monitoring and Intelligence, you'll be responsible for undertaking searches to identify information to support the wider OIO with assessing  consent applications from overseas investors and investigations into breaches of the Act

As a skilled researcher we know you're driven by an enquiring mind, the desire to look beyond the obvious to gain assurance for the information discovered and leave no stone unturned.  This ties in nicely with your good judgement, professionalism and your ability to work quickly and effectively as you're well organised.  You will also be required to construct your findings into reports and present these to your fellow colleagues but we know this won't be a problem!

One of the best parts of the role is working alongside other talented people in the OIO who will quickly come to depend on you as an expert researcher.  We'll reward you further with a competitive salary, a supportive team environment and the chance to develop your career in a regulatory environment.

If you are a graduate with some good experience in research or if you have been working for a few years, with research experience and are looking for a new opportunity, then come and join the OIO.  Apply online and submit your covering letter and CV.

If you have any questions about the role, please contact Leanne at [email protected]

Applications close at 5.00pm on Sunday 29 July 2018.
