Be an integral part of establishing an innovative service for the Hawke's Bay.

The Hawkes Bay District Health Board Community Mental Health Service (CMH) provides a range of mental health and addictions services for the Hawke's Bay region.

Te Ara Manapou Pregnancy and Parenting Support (PPS) works with pregnant woman and parents of children under three years of age who have alcohol and drug issues and are poorly connected to health and social services and this is the last opportunity for a dynamic and professional Practitioner to apply for a position to complete our team.

Te Ara Manapou has a multi-disciplinary team working with a range of specialist services such as Mental Health, Lead Maternity Carers, Oranga Tamariki and Non-Government Organisations. We work from a client focused perspective to address identified needs with a view to improving outcomes for parents, children and whanau.

As one of our Registered Practitioners you will be an experienced AOD practitioner and may have trained in AOD, nursing, social work, counselling, psychology, occupational therapy or related fields. You will be seeking an opportunity to work in a cohesive well supported team and develop your AOD expertise specific to pregnant women, fathers, their children and their families.

A sense of social justice and enjoying working with a vulnerable, challenging and complex client group is desirable. Excellent engagement and communication skills, a non-judgemental attitude and an ability to work autonomously within a team are vital.

You won't find this opportunity just anywhere, and when you combine this with the chance to live in New Zealand's own piece of paradise, you have to ask yourself "why work anywhere else"? If you don't live here already, then take a stroll through the Hawke's Bay Tourism website and get yourself to Hawke's Bay!

This is a full-time position - Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5pm.
