UNIVERSITY of OTAGO, WELLINGTON
The Department of Public Health University of Otago, Wellington is seeking to appoint an Assistant Research Fellow to provide data management and analytical support for research projects in the Department. The successful candidate will work alongside experienced researchers on a range of health projects that use data from the Integrated Data Infrastructure (IDI).
The Role
- To carry out data management and analysis for research projects using IDI data in the Department of Public Health.
- To provide competent, timely advice on the use of the Integrated Data Infrastructure for health research, through collaboration with the Virtual Health Information Network (VHIN).
Your Skills and Experience
- Graduate degree in Statistics, Health, Social Sciences, or related field.
- Expertise with SAS, Stata or R is essential. Experience with SQL is an advantage.
- Experience with research projects in Health or Social Sciences.
- Good written and oral communication skills; able to describe complex technical work clearly and simply.
- Able to function independently and autonomously.
- Initiative and problem-solving skills.
The successful applicant will be required to comply with the regulations for IDI data access from Statistics New Zealand.
Further Details
This is a full-time fixed-term position for one year. Part-time options may be considered.
