The Safer Journeys Co-ordinator plays an essential role in promoting and facilitating the road safety work of Rotorua Lakes Council and contributes to delivery of the behaviour change programmes for active modes.
We are seeking a flexible team player with lots of initiative and a professional interest in road safety issues who enjoys working with all sections of the community. Proven community work, excellent communication skills, and demonstrated organisational and administration abilities are necessary. You will have sound practical experience with the operation of computer systems, related databases and social media application.
The work will involve community liaison and research, co-ordinating projects/programmes, and completing planning and reporting requirements. The position works closely alongside the Sustainable Journeys and Bike Ready Co-ordinators and reports to The Safe and Sustainable Journeys Manager.
Extensive local networks and relationships, specifically in the youth arena are highly desirable attributes for this role. Experience in small event delivery would be advantageous along with an aspiration to take part in our Bike Ready (cycle skills) programme delivery. A current full driver licence is essential.

This is a part time position of 32 hours per week. Flexibility within these hours is essential as there may be occasions when you are required to work evenings and weekends to meet the key accountabilities of the role.
