Papamoa Library
Permanent position - 40 hours per week, worked Tuesday to Saturday.

Our Tauranga City Libraries are part of the Community Services department, and aim to meet the changing information, recreation and learning needs of the community, and to grow the utilisation of the library collections. We have recently adopted a new model of working that would ensure the Library service meets the demands of a growing and changing community.
Because of this, we have an opportunity for an enthusiastic person with a relevant tertiary qualification to join our team! We are looking for someone with experience in customer service and people management. This position is responsible for management of the library team when the Community Library Leader is absent. Every day you'll communicate with people of all ages in a community setting. In addition, you will be confident with popular IT programmes and devices, and have knowledge of books and information.
On a daily basis your tasks might include:
- Helping set up eBooks on customer devices
- Managing health and safety situations that affect staff and customers
- Teaching library processes, procedures and services to staff
- Producing rosters
- Showing customers the various databases and library apps
- Library customer service, i.e. issues, returns, answering customer queries
- Recommending and discussing books with adults and children
