Wallace Group Limited Partnership owns and operates rendering plants and tanneries throughout New Zealand. Its owners have long associations with rendering and tanning dating back to 1930s.
The Company wishes to employ a person to fill the position of Maintenance Engineer at its Washdyke Plant located 10km north of Timaru.
This is a full time sole charge position.
The desired candidate would possess the following attributes
- Qualified Maintenance Fitter Welder or Fitter Turner
- Experience in an industrial environment
- Experience with steam reticulation systems and boilers
- The ability to work unsupervised and meet deadlines ensuring maximized production
- Good communication skills
- Good diagnostic and trouble shooting skills
- Must be a NZ Citizen or a holder of a Permanent Resident Visa
- Overtime is an integral part of the role in order that maintenance is carried out when the plant is not operating.
- Commitment to workplace health and safety
- Knowledge of computerised maintenance software systems
The position is “hands on” but will involve all duties associated with maintaining the plant including planning, scheduling, purchasing, organising contractors and reporting.
The remuneration package is competitive and there is some flexibility with hours of work.
