The Role
As a result of a significant project pipeline, AECOM’s Hamilton Structures team is looking to grow to meet our workload demand. Working with an enthusiastic and driven Structures Team, you will support a range of building related projects for a broad range of clients on local, regional and national projects. There may well be options to work on international projects should you be interested.
You will primarily work to deliver projects in the Waikato and Bay of Plenty Region, an area which is growing with many exciting prospects coming up.
As a Senior Structural Engineer, you will be involved in all aspects of the project lifecycle - from preparing proposals and presenting to clients, through to managing resources and budgets to ensure timely project delivery. You will collaborate with teams across our business lines and technical disciplines, and provide support to our junior engineers.

About You
You will possess the following:
- Tertiary qualification in structural engineering
- Minimum 7 years’ experience in building structures, ideally in a consultancy
- Chartered status highly desirable
- Excellent knowledge and competency in structural building specification and design
- Demonstrated skills in managing projects (or components of) and budgets to meet time and resource requirements
- Capable of working independently, collaboratively as part of a team, and leading a structural team
- Clear and concise verbal and written communication
- Solid experience with NZ codes, including seismic design and assessment.
