Our Refinery to Auckland Pipeline (RAP) is a key part of our infrastructure, and vital for supplying finished fuels in to the Auckland market.

Your place in our community

As the RAP Pipeline Manager, it's your job to ensure safe and reliable operation of the Refinery to Auckland Pipeline and full compliance with all statutory requirements.

You manage and hold the contracts for key external pipeline relationships, liaise with regulators, legal advisors, pipeline certifiers, and landowners.

This role is a strategic asset management role, so we are looking for someone who has the:

  • Ability to influence key stakeholders both inside and outside of Refining NZ 
  • Knowledge of relevant NZ laws and regulations 
  • Knowledge of pipeline standards and codes 
  • Tertiary qualification or equivalent with a sound background in an engineering or operations discipline in pipelines. 
  • Significant experience in petrochemical, energy, oil and gas pipelines or related industries 
  • Strong communication skills in order to communicate effectively with regulatory bodies, general public, regional and local councils.

Refining NZ uses the APIA - Pipeline Engineer Competency Standards to assess competency of Pipeline staff, and to ensure all key competencies are covered within the team.
