Senior Civil Engineer

About the opportunity

This role includes a mixture of technical engineering design leadership, providing expertise on an array of design solutions, assisting with the development of the engineering team capabilities, design management and some key client management.

You will work within the local Urban Development team assisting with developing project concepts and solutions, responding to technical issues and queries and leading the delivery.

Key responsibilities:

• Provide technical expertise and design solutions to the team and clients on a wide variety of projects
• Ensuring engineering activities are performed in accordance with the project requirements and Calibre technical standards
• Assist with the preparation of concept, preliminary and detailed engineering designs, specifications and documentation for projects
• Provide technical review of engineered designs and solutions
• Actively promote and continuously communicate on the best engineering practices, both in the project, the broader business and the marketplace
• Undertaking mentoring of less experienced staff and assisting Urban Development team members with professional development as needed

Essential Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

• CPEng status or working towards this in the near future
• A tertiary qualification in engineering
• Demonstrable experience in a Senior Engineer capacity including creating business opportunities in the Urban Development
• Demonstrated interpersonal skills and leadership ability
• Proven project management skills
• Quality focused - accuracy and attention to detail
• Strong communication skills both written and verbal
• Motivated to succeed and assist with the development of young engineers
• A real team player with a positive outlook and attitude
