About the role
Grand Millennium Hotel Auckland are looking for an experienced Chief Engineer to join the team. Reporting to the General Manager, you will assume effective operations for the engineering department with in the hotel. You will be trade certified with ideally experience in a similar role. You will have managerial skills with refined organisational and administrative skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing Guidance on compliance, health & safety, energy saving
- Maintain effective communication with General Manager at all times
- Assist with planning and Implementation of hotel capital projects
- Always adhere to all company policies and procedures
- Planning and implementation of daily maintenance and operations
- Implement and manage preventative maintenance
- Leading and motivating a team

Key Skills and Experience
- Focused on delivering outstanding service experience through inspiring trust, respect and taking ownership
- A minimum of 5 year Chief Engineer, Director of Engineering within Hotel or large facility (Hotel, hospital, cruise ship, retirement village) engineering related role
- Trade qualified
- Proven facilities or maintenance management experience
- Excellent communication skills and highly orgainsed
- Computer literate – MS word & MS excel, BMS
- Proven track record to meet deadlines and work under pressure
- Knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, boilers, pool and refrigeration
