Westland Milk Products is a successful independent co-operative dairy manufacturer based in Hokitika. We produce a diverse range of high-quality dairy products marketed globally. This role provides a fantastic opportunity to be a key part of our exciting, on-going nutritional product and plant developments while working alongside a passionate and highly skilled team.
We are looking for an Engineering Electrician to work closely with the Electrical Supervisor and Electrical Manager to maintain all plants on-site and to ensure all Electrical equipment complies with Electrical standards based at our Hokitika site.
The responsibilities of the successful applicant will include:
- Electrical maintenance on all Plants
- Uphold compliance and best practices to assigned areas
- Fault finding on equipment, preventative maintenance
- Panel wiring, construction, and installation on site-wide electrical equipment
- Labour management including other electricians, apprentices, and subcontractors
- Ordering and receiving of materials and parts.
- OHS (Worksafe) and QA documentation
- Liaising with other trades and project leaders during contract works.
- Dealing with a wide range of people and management at all levels of the workplace and -contracting industry.
The successful candidate will possess:
- National Certificate in Electrical Engineering (Electrician) Level 4.
- Experience across a broad range of industrial electrical equipment.
- Ability to perform electrical maintenance of commercial and industrial facilities.
- Ability to read and interpret specifications and drawings
- Be committed and self-motivated, with very good organisational and housekeeping skills
- Experience in instrumentation and calibration.
- Good working knowledge of current electrical standards and regulations
- Experience in fault finding on PLC programmes preferred
- Experience in hazardous areas and machine safety preferred
