Westland Milk Products is a successful independent co-operative dairy manufacturer based in Hokitika. We produce a diverse range of high-quality dairy products marketed globally. This role provides a fantastic opportunity to be a key part of our exciting, on-going nutritional product and plant developments while working alongside a passionate and highly skilled team.

We are looking for an Engineering Electrician to work closely with the Electrical Supervisor and Electrical Manager to maintain all plants on-site and to ensure all Electrical equipment complies with Electrical standards based at our Hokitika site.

The responsibilities of the successful applicant will include:

  • Electrical maintenance on all Plants
  • Uphold compliance and best practices to assigned areas
  • Fault finding on equipment, preventative maintenance
  • Panel wiring, construction, and installation on site-wide electrical equipment
  • Labour management including other electricians, apprentices, and subcontractors
  • Ordering and receiving of materials and parts.
  • OHS (Worksafe) and QA documentation
  • Liaising with other trades and project leaders during contract works.
  • Dealing with a wide range of people and management at all levels of the workplace and -contracting industry.

The successful candidate will possess:

  • National Certificate in Electrical Engineering (Electrician) Level 4.
  • Experience across a broad range of industrial electrical equipment.
  • Ability to perform electrical maintenance of commercial and industrial facilities.
  • Ability to read and interpret specifications and drawings
  • Be committed and self-motivated, with very good organisational and housekeeping skills
  • Experience in instrumentation and calibration.
  • Good working knowledge of current electrical standards and regulations
  • Experience in fault finding on PLC programmes preferred
  • Experience in hazardous areas and machine safety preferred
