PLN Group is an award winning research and design firm with an integrated furniture manufacturing facility based in Avondale off Rosebank Road.  We care about life and design for it.  We share ideas and knowledge to create products that enhance life, including high value soft furnishings, award winning commercial furniture and quality products from New Zealand designers, supplying to the residential, commercial, export and hospitality sectors.

We are seeking an Accountant to be at the hub of our business and manage the purse strings.  Not for the faint hearted!  It’s a fast paced role, performing predominantly sole charge transactional functions within our finance software, working across all areas of finance from accounts payable and receivable, payroll to full budget, IRD reporting, cash-flow management and P&L responsibilities.  There is a part-time person to assist and support with AP data entry and reconciliations, however, the majority of this position is sole charge, so a quick analytical thinker/processer, who can perform in a fast and efficient manner and still focus on the big picture is essential.  We run three companies, the two most active are our research/design/sales entity and our contract manufacturing operation.  This means running 3 sets of accounts in Infusion software.  We use an external chartered Accountancy to complete our FBT and yearly filings but everything else financial is your domain.

We’re a tight knit team of approximately 30 FTE and we think we have a pretty unique place to work, where your voice and contribution is valued.  You'll hold an active role within the team getting to know every aspect of our business, continuously seeking improvements and efficiencies and we believe you'll have fun in process.

Key Responsibilities - Management and processing for the finance function;

• Creditor data and record entry into Infusion software including daily purchase orders
• Optimising receivables, payables and operating capital
• Preparing budgets, forecasts, cash flow management, treasury duties and daily bank reconciliations
• Process IMS payroll weekly for 15 wages, 10 salary and 5 contractors, including IRD filing and payments
• Completing 2 monthly GST returns for two companies and 6 monthly GST for our third company
• Maintaining financial ledgers and accounting processes
• Preparing monthly consolidated P&L and balance sheet
• Analysing the financials across operations and product profitability
• Developing Standard Operating Procedures to improve productivity and financial management
• Presenting to the Board as required

You’ll bring;

• An Accounting qualification (essential) and experience from a small to medium business (ideally manufacturing) where you have held sole charge financial management
• A high level of computer literacy and analytical skills, Intermediate Excel (we use Infusion, Empower and IMS which are nice to have but not essential)
• Ability to prioritise a large number of tasks and process efficiently
• Strong leadership style, whilst able to uphold the financial integrity
• Exceptional organisational skills with self drive and energy
• Flexibility and adaptability to change
• Excellent verbal and written skills
• Proven experience establishing or adapting systems and processes is a must and experience in audit would be a bonus.
