To support our innovation, we have a vacancy for a motivated, qualified and experienced Maintenance Engineer. The role is based at Mount Maunganui and may involve some travel throughout New Zealand.

You will work with a team of engineers and environmental scientists to maintain and repair machinery and other plant equipment. You will also provide technical updates, collect and analyse data as required and contribute to the development of new technologies. You must be able to operate with a high level of autonomy.

The principle duties of the role will be:

  • Perform maintenance and repair of machinery, including prototype fumigant recapture equipment
  • Assist with maintenance and repair of other plant equipment
  • Contribute to the improvement and development of prototype and operational equipment
  • Assist Engineers with the building of new recapture machines
  • Attend and participate in recapture technology and development meetings
  • Demonstrate a commitment to H&S awareness and best practice

Skills and experienced required:

  • Experienced tradesman fitter or mechanic with some electrical experience
  • Trade qualification in one or more trade is essential
  • Proven experience in general machinery repairs and maintenance
  • Strong trouble shooting skills in mechanical, electrical and fluid systems. Both analogue and PC based
  • High attention to detail. Proactive and reliable
  • Ability to work unsupervised as some weekend and after-hours work will be required
  • Welding experience is an advantage
  • Current full driving licence
  • Eligibility to work in New Zealand
  • Risk management and general Health & Safety awareness
