Our client is a one of the largest non-food manufacturers in the Hawkes Bay Area, specialising in timber products such as pallets and farm fences. They are now looking for a Maintenance Engineer to perform preventative and reactive maintenance on their highly sophisticated and automated production line in order to ensure the smooth running of operation at all times.  

As part of the engineering team, your mechanical fault finding skills will be the greatest asset to the role. You should be very comfortable with working on PLC driven hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and parts such as compressors, pumps, gearboxes, conveyors, etc. Welding and machining skills are also needed to fabricate new parts and equipment. 

To be suitable for this position you will need to display the following skills:

• Mechanical Trade qualified
• Strong amount of hands on experience in industrial maintenance and fault finding
• Experience with pneumatics, hydraulics, conveyors and other fast moving manufacturing equipment
• A variety of skills in fitting, turning, welding and fabrication, or general mechanical aptitude
• Experience with high speed, PLC driven production machinery and basic electrical knowledge will be highly desirable (Allen Bradley or Siemens)
• Understanding of maintenance systems (MEX)
• Commitment to Health and Safety
