The Huntly Power Station is a valuable asset for Genesis now, and in the future. Huntly has the ability to provide base-load generation while also being able to take advantage of higher prices in the short or medium term. The mix of coal and gas generating units is likely to change over time as older generation units are placed into long-term storage, retired or replaced.
We have an excellent opportunity for an Operator Maintainer (Mechanical) looking for a new challenge. Joining the Gas Turbine team, you'll be operating and maintaining our efficient gas fired plant, while ensuring resource consent and health and safety policies and regulations are met. You will be reporting on the plant conditions and remedying defects, maintaining and managing audit and operation documentation. You'll be overviewing work activities to ensure safety, quality and efficiency of resources.
We need someone that is self-motivated, a team player, a natural leader and who has excellent communication skills. You'll need to be flexible, adaptable and keen to learn as on the job training will be provided. The team in Huntley work on an eight-week shift cycle but we'll talk to you more about that during the interview process.
The right candidate will have the following experience:
- Enchem Level 4 (Energy and Chemical Plant) or a Trade Qualification.
- A minimum of three years in heavy industrial work environment.
- Experience using Maximo or similar.
