Cardno is seeking a Graduate Surveyor to join our team in Wellington. The office is based in Petone and has spectacular views from the kitchen out over the harbour to Wellington City. You will enjoy a great social element of work where there is games and tournaments put on by the social team, regular banter in the kitchen over a cuppa and the opportunity to chat with all levels of staff in the wider office due to the collaborative and positive culture.

Cardno is seeking to reinforce its Spatial and Survey team capabilities in the Wellington region by appointing a Graduate to join our team based in Petone. Projects you will be involved in will include infrastructure, land development, cadastral, construction, 3D laser scanning, Remote Piloted Aircraft System (RPAS) and GIS projects predominately throughout the Wellington Region. 
  
As a Surveyor, you will develop skills in the following:

• Planning and delivery of survey projects
• Practical use of Leica/Trimble robotic total stations and GPS units
• Undertake a variety of surveys including engineering and cadastral surveys
• The use of survey and design software including AutoCAD and 12D
• Collaborating with project staff and seeking advice from Senior Surveyors as required
• Assisting with the delivery of project outcomes in accordance with client specifications and expectations
• Maintaining continued professional development
• Monitoring the progress of works to ensure compliance with program, budget and quality
• Commitment to application of work health and safety principals to maintain Cardno’s commitment to Zero Harm 

To be successful you will display:

• Degree level qualifications in Surveying or equivalent
• Demonstrated experience using Leica/Trimble robotic total stations and GPS units and AutoCAD would be preferable (12D will be advantageous though training can be provided)
• A demonstrated passion for working in the Surveying discipline
• Well-developed report writing with excellent communication skills
• Adapt to working within a team environment through well-developed interpersonal skills
• A positive person with a proactive attitude
• Keen to get involved and learn from others including other disciplines, whilst also contributing to a vibrant team
