Van Den Brink Poultry Limited is a well established family owned company supplying the Brink's brand of chicken within the Supermarket and Catering industries across New Zealand. Our Karaka site is one of our five processing plants.
We are looking for a Maintenance Engineer to become part of our team working the Karaka Plant. This is an excellent opportunity to join our growing and exciting company. You will be responsible for carrying out plant and machinery maintenance, running repairs on and overhauling machinery and industrial equipment. You will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the plant's poultry processing equipment and general industrial equipment on site. You will be experienced at working in a fast moving process factory environment, be a self starter and an effective problem solver and requiring minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
- Start and shut down of the plant in accordance with the Operation Manual.
- Understand and work within the safety requirements and procedures and in accordance with NZ regulatory requirements.
- Communicate openly with all departments on all maintenance issues and the condition/availability of all plant equipment.
- Liaise with maintenance contractors when required and ensure work carried out by contractors is completed safely and efficiently.
- Attend to plant and equipment breakdowns. This may require work outside of normal hours.
- Maintain machinery and implement preventative breakdown plans.
- Ensure plant equipment is serviced and maintained.
- Liaise with suppliers for machine parts and repairs.
- Advise planning/management of maintenance issues.
- Maintain excellent service and PPM records.
- To ensure compliance to the current building warrant of fitness legislation.
- Maintain a professional and positive attitude whilst being committed to our company values of integrity, intensity, innovation and involvement.
- Working to agreed deadlines with a focus to finding solutions.
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
- Mechanical Trade qualified.
- Current driver’s license.
- Systems including Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to effectively multi-task and manage many ongoing tasks.
- Local and practical approach.
- Accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ownership to closure or task completion.
- Ability to effectively manage task priority changes.
- Continuous improvement.
