Our client based in Mid Canterbury is looking for a Mechanical Service Engineer for their team of guys who do off site repairs and maintenance on dairy related equipment and grain feeders.
This position will require out of town travel throughout the South Island involving overnight stays. You will need to be able to relate to and talk with farmers relating to what they require and expect to be done.
The successful candidate will have proven experience with instillation, repairs and maintenance on machinery being familiar with stripping and repairing gearboxes driven by belt, chain and direct drive.
Must have good communication skills to be able to liaise with clients and be able to convey back to head office parts required or any site problems. Must have electrical knowledge. Being able to competently weld would be preferred.
The successful candidate must have a proven work history in the following areas
- Be available to travel out and spend nights away from home
- Instillation of new equipment
- Repairs and maintenance of existing plant
- Able to work unsupervised
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Electrical fault finding abilities
- Welding skills
