The opportunity
Reporting directly to the General Manager for NZ your work will be based in Aratiatia (15km from Taupo) and you will be Project Managing one of New Zealand’s most significant hydro power refurbishment projects. This role will see you taking responsibility for project delivery through a multidisciplinary team of engineering and technical specialists focused on the design, delivery, installation and commissioning of three generators, one Fran­cis runner including model test, and three turbine governors HPP ­Aratiatia. The first unit is due to start commercial operations late 2018. This is an outstanding opportunity to engage your project management skills and add this highly significant renewable energy project to your portfolio of successfully delivered projects. Your responsibilities will be broad and varied but include;

• Client management and client reporting, being the key client interface for all meetings, updates and variations
• Being the Contractors representative and managing all contract variations and associated approvals
• Project reporting incorporating financials, progress, variations, safety, forecasts etc
• Project planning, resourcing requirements, onsite OSH and contractor inductions
• Site administration including OSH and other project related activities

About you
You will need significant PM experience gained across either Hydro, HV Utilities or large scale industrial processing plants. You will be a skilled communicator who is well versed in NZ contract management and experienced in working closely with clients and asset owners. You will have strong influencing skills and the ability to develop cohesive teams, set clear expectations and manage performance to ensure that project objectives are achieved.
To be successful in this role it is envisaged that you will offer;

• A tertiary qualification in a relevant electrical engineering field
• Ten plus years PM experience gained through working in a similar industrial/field environment
• Strong communication and influencing skills
• The ability to work autonomously through well executed problem solving
• Experience in the management of FIDIC/Yellow Book contracts
• Be able to relocate to Taupo (if not already living in the region)
