Have you ever wished you could influence the manufacturers of the gear you are operating to make it better / more operator friendly / more robust? Are you an experienced mechanic or mechanical engineer who is passionate about working in the agricultural sector?

We are looking for someone with the following attributes:

 

• Knowledge of CLAAS agricultural equipment, particularly mowers, liners, balers and Jaguar would be beneficial
• Mechanical or Engineering qualifications

• Experience with hydraulic and electronic componentry

• Ability to work independently

• Good mechanical knowledge

• Ability to operate agricultural contracting machinery, Jaguar forage harvester, mowers, balers etc.

• Good computer skills, excel, word, grammar and spelling

• Ability to communicate well and form mutually beneficial relationships with contractors and factory Engineers

• Loves and knows agricultural equipment

• Is a thinker and practical problem solver

• Strives to get it just right

• Can work to deadlines

AG Technology NZ has an exclusive contract with CLAAS Germany for testing and validating agriculture equipment, and is involved in research and development projects both here in New Zealand, in Europe and around the world. 

Training and support is provided in this role to bring the chosen candidate quickly up to speed on the machinery being tested. The successful applicant will need to be a reliable self-starter. This can be quite a challenging role that will suit someone who is ambitious.
