The opportunity
Tauranga is the largest city in the Bay of Plenty and one of the fastest growing population centres in the country. With a booming local economy the region is popular with families and holidaymakers. Over 200 people from 10 different engineering disciplines work out of our Tauranga office, which has a depth of knowledge and exciting office culture that enables our people to play a huge role in the day to day life of people in the Bay.

Reliable, accurate and timely asset data is the foundation for efficient and effective management of Roading assets. Through our existing engagements with both NZ Transport Agency and Local Authority clients we have an exciting opportunity for a Road Asset Engineer to join our high performing team.

As a Road Asset Engineer your responsibilities will be to support the senior asset managers and engineers providing professional advice to our clients to effectively and efficiently manage their roading networks. Specific duties include:

  • Managing the delivery of defined packages of work
  • Asset performance analysis and reporting
  • Trend analysis and reporting
  • Supporting the development of renewals forward works programmes
  • Field surveys including failure mode analysis
  • Assisting with asset revaluations
  • Road asset inventory database management
  • Data quality reviews of automated condition survey data

About you
You will have a Bachelor degree, or equivalent, in relevant engineer field and your experience to date will have given you a good understanding of asset management processes. In particular this will be in carriageway surfacing and pavement construction as well as condition surveys associated with asset management programming and planning. Proficient in Microsoft office packages you will also have a good working knowledge of RAMM. To be successful in this positon you’ll have an innovative approach to problem solving, excellent organizational skills and an ability to work effectively both alone and as part of a team.
