An exciting design role has become available at a leading machine manufacturing company. Kinetic Engineering Ltd is a well-established and highly regarded company around the globe. The company manufactures a variety of precision CNC plasma and flame (oxyfuel) cutting machinery and multi process machines that combine machining operations such as milling, drilling and tapping with cutting operations.
The position is for a design engineer to join the mechanical design team. Responsibilities will include conceptual designs of new machines and components, through to detailed drawings for production. The role allows the freedom to explore innovative and creative new ideas with development and progression being a key ethos of the company. You will also be working closely with production and workshop colleagues to see your designs turned around quickly.
The ideal candidate:
• Creative and the ability solve problems thinking outside of the box
• Several years hands on practical experience. If you come from a trade back ground that would be great
• Mechanical engineering or other relevant engineering tertiary or trade qualification
• Experience focused on product and mechanical design particularly machine design
• Detailed CAD drawing skills ideally with Solidworks and Solidworks PDM• Knowledge of manufacturing processes
• Excellent communication skills and a cooperative team player.
