Our client is a leading Contractor in the electrical Distribution industry in New Zealand. They are committed to delivering quality focused contracting services nationwide.
The Role
Our client has vacancies for experienced Distribution Live Line Mechanics to join their team. You will undertake installation and maintenance works on a mix of rural and urban projects. The successful applicants will be required to attain network access competencies.
Job Requirements
To be successful in this role you will need:
- An absolute commitment to completing projects safely
- EWRB Line Mechanic Registration and a current Practicing Licence
- Proven experience as a Line Mechanic on electrical Distribution networks up to 33 kV
- A class 2 HT Licence
- Experience in identifying electrical systems in preparation for work, as well as reading and interpreting Utility Plans
- Fit and capable of climbing and working on electricity network structure
- Use Line machinery plant and equipment in an electricity network environment
- Develop work plans for construction and servicing overhead electricity supply lines and equipment
- Join electricity network overhead conductors
- Install and replace electricity network pole structures
- Install electricity network overhead conductors
- Operate ground and structure mounted electrical equipment associated with electricity lines up to 33 kV
- Rig electrical network structures
- Excavate and reinstate underground cable installation sites
- Ensure that work is carried out to required standards and plans, stopping work if unsafe or not to standard, reporting QSE issues that arise and managing risks in the workplace
- Have a strong customer focus, strong communication skills and you are a team player
Qualifications/training required:
- A Trade qualification as an Electrician or Distribution Line Mechanic with a current EWRB Practicing Licence
- Hands-on experience on the Distribution network to meet industry standards
- A thorough knowledge of current regulatory and industry requirements
- Holds a Class 2 HT Licence
