Opportunity Overview
This is a solid Project Management role to sink your teeth into with a large Civil Contracting Company. You will need to be a professional and dedicated Project Manager, ideally with PRINCE2 or PMI certification under your belt and at least 3 – 5 years’ experience in this sort of work.

The company is a large Civil Contractor and this role would see you in the 3 Waters Project Infrastructure team. However, with Project Management being the key skillset and role, civil experience is not necessary but would be helpful. With this in mind the company are open to considering people with more of a general background, so this role would also suit someone who is a Project Manager in some sort of Engineering sector, i.e. Civil, Construction, Mechanical etc.

The Nitty Gritty
The role is focused on delivering 3 Waters Infrastructure Projects. This includes pipe network infrastructure, connections, structures (i.e. manholes, culverts, drains), fittings (Residential to large Industrial) e.g. valves, hydrants, back flow protection, etc.).

From the Project Management perspective your part in this will require you to be able to produce Project Plans, Methodologies, Health & Safety Risk Assessments, Quality Plans, Project Delivery Reporting Documentation, Financial Reporting, etc. You need to be someone who can understand contracts and work to specific contract requirements, whilst reporting and managing the project and engaging with internal and external stakeholders.

You will be based on site locally 50% of the time and will work closely with the project team, supervisors, and on the ground workers. You will need to live in the Bay of Plenty and ideally in Rotorua where the company is based.
Importantly the company can offer either Permanent or Fixed Term Contract employment, entirely dependent on what the successful person prefers.

Role Requirements
  • At least 3 – 5 years’ experience in Project Management from an Engineering context
  • Can Compile and Write:
- Project Plans & Programs
- Risk Assessments
- H&S Assessments
  • Highly Desired: Prince2 or PMI Certification
  • High level of Communications
  • Maintain diverse Relationships
  • Project Resourcing e.g. procurement, subcontractor quotes and contract administration
If the Bay of Plenty is a location you would consider and you are a dedicated Project Management professional wanting to explore options then this could be what you are looking for.
