About the business

Our client; a recently acquired, global FMCG and retail company are enjoying a hugely exciting building phase, in the creation of their finance team. The business are currently on the look out for a Graduate Accountant to support a dynamic accounting team with transactional accounting duties and month end preparation.

About the role

Reporting in to a financial controller and working in a dynamic team of 6 you will be required to take responsibility for the companies financial administration, in addition to transactional accounting duties.

Duties include:- 

  • Post and process journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded.
  • Update accounts receivable and issue invoices
  • Update accounts payable and perform reconciliations.
  • Assist accounting projects
  • Help prepare balance sheets, income statements and other financial statements.
  • Assist with reviewing of expenses, payroll records.
  • Update financial data in databases to ensure that information will be accurate and immediately available when needed.
  • Daily banking and general administration.

Skills and experience

  • Tertiary qualification in accounting, finance or other related field.
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • Great attention to detail.
  • Advanced numeracy and analytical ability. 
  • Good understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices.
  • Knowledge of MS Office particularly Excel.
  • Appetite to learn, grow and develop.
  • Ability to use initiative and solve complex problems.
  • Exemplary communication skills with the ability to build cross functional relationships.
