We have an exciting opportunity for a permanent, full-time Operations Engineer based at the Mangere Wastewater Treatment Plant.

About the role:

Working at the largest wastewater treatment plant in New Zealand, in this role you will support all key activities and processes associated with the effective operation and maintenance of the Mangere Plant. You will be involved in work ranging from hands-on trouble-shooting to initiating, delivering, and commissioning of operational improvement projects. Key tasks include:

• Routinely monitoring and reporting on operational and maintenance requirements
• Providing technical support and operational assistance
• Coordination of specific operations, maintenance and capital works activities
• Getting involved in optimisation initiatives of unit processes
• Safeguarding and championing Health and Safety in the workplace
• Participating in an on-call capacity to support the wider group.

The successful candidate will have:

• A tertiary qualification in Engineering, ideally at degree level and in Environmental engineering (trade certificates or relevant technical experience will be considered)
• At least five years' experience in a related Environmental engineering field OR a minimum of two years' experience in wastewater treatment plant operations
• Computer literacy, with competency in the Microsoft Office suite
• Experience in data analysis, plant processes and report preparation
• A National Certificate/Diploma in Wastewater Treatment is desirable but not necessary
• Experience in large wastewater treatment plant operations is highly valued for the role
• A full driver's licence
