We have a brand-new opportunity for a Project Engineer to join a great team on a major roading project in South Auckland. This could also be a great opportunity for a Site Engineer with 3-4 years’ experience, the right ambition & attitude to move into a Project Engineering role.

The position will help you grow your experience in road construction, with a broad range of responsibilities across cost and contract management, health, safety and environmental compliance.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Planning, Scheduling, maintaining, coordinating and monitoring construction programs and completion of activities within scope
• Preparing work packs with associated documentation and QA requirements
• Ensuring the construction works are coordinated effectively in line with the scheduled program
• Responsibility for scope of works profitability, and ensuring regular reviews of cost against plan and budget are on target
• Analysing and evaluating construction techniques, and recommending options and solutions where appropriate
• Ensuring works are scheduled appropriately in order to minimise downtime and /or interface issues
• Informing the Construction Manager on any significant compliance issue across health and safety, environment or quality assurance which will impact either the delivery of the works or relationship with a client or stakeholder

Qualifications and experience:

• At least 4 years in civil construction, ideally with experience in roading/pavements who is able to hit the ground running.
• Degree qualified in Civil Engineering
• Proven ability to forecast and track daily/monthly costs effectively
• Excellent track record in delivering work packages with accuracy and diligence
