Our client is a respected and well-established Southland firm.

They are currently looking for a suitably experienced Engineer to service mechanical equipment on manufacturing sites in and around Southland.

With time spent in the workshop and site based across a range of industry throughout the region, a desire for variety and a proven high standard of workmanship is required.

The job will involve:

• Working in the workshop or on customer sites
• Carrying out general mechanical duties, maintenance, repairs and fault diagnosis work on mechanical equipment
• Performing mechanical maintenance duties
• Some travel (depending on customer requirements)

Skills and experience required:

• Maintenance experience (especially pump and electric motors)
• Experience working with mechanical equipment
• Machining and fitting skills would be an advantage
• Ability to read & interpret drawings would be an advantage
• Strong H & S Focus
• Positive attitude & good communication skills
• Current and valid NZ Drivers Licence
