They are now looking for an experienced Industrial Chemist or Process Engineer to join the team. You'll work closely in the pre-commercial demonstration facility to trial chemical processes as well as in their laboratory, so will need to be comfortable working in operations environment and that you are open to this as part of your responsibilities.
Aside from being flexibility to work between the lab and plant operations, you'll need to:
- Work safely at all times and actively contributing to the safety culture
- Be responsible for recording and analysing operational data
- Perform maintenance, modify and upgrade the facility
- Analyse plant samples using lab equipment such as weighing balance, pH meter, titrations, XRF
- Have some familiarity with materials characterisation using XRF and particle size analysis using laser diffraction systems would be advantageous but not essential
You'll be comfortable in this hands-on position handling bulk chemicals, sometimes required to use lifting equipment, where safety is always top of mind. You're methodical and quick thinking to come up with solutions and really enjoy being part of a small close knit team on this exciting journey from pre-commercial trial to commercialisation.
Your degree in science or engineering, preferably with experience or majoring in chemistry, chemical engineering or mechanical engineering and your experience ideally within a production facility, either within a laboratory or operating plant and equipment, will be a great foundation.
