We are a New Zealand owned and operated business and pride ourselves on providing quality products and services.

Due to growth we are looking for a Manufacturing Process Engineer to join our Engineering team to assist in in developing, implementing and maintaining efficient electronic manufacturing processes and assembly workflows.

Job tasks and responsibilities

  • Organise, implement and maintain production process flows.
  • Provide process documentation, workmanship and operating instructions.
  • Develop best practices, routines and innovative solutions to improve production rates and quality of output.
  • Investigate operational problems affecting production and reporting and recommending solutions.
  • Work with other relevant departments to determine estimated costs, run time, cost reductions and close the feedback loop.
  • Work with customers and engineering team on DFx (design for excellence) to include:
    • Design for cost
    • Design for test
    • Design for manufacturability
    • Design for assembly
  • Create machine programs for automated manufacturing.
  • Panelise printed circuit boards at gerber level for efficient manufacture & assembly.

Skills and experience

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Electronics or Mechatronics or Computer Eng.
  • Excellent technical skills
  • Knowledge of electronic manufacturing systems and processes
  • Familiar with electronic component packages.
  • Working knowledge of PCB design &/or gerber software packages.
  • Very proficient MS-Excel skills including macro's.
  • Computer programming skills (eg VB, .NET, C++)
  • Familiarity with health and safety regulations
  • Good knowledge of lean manufacturing & quality systems.
