About the branch:

The financial systems team sits within the Finance and Performance Group (F&P). Finance and Performance is responsible for leading the design, development and implementation of effective financial strategies, policies, systems and financial management initiatives to MBIEs strategic direction

The financial systems team is responsible for the full range of financial system functions, including responsibility for the maintenance and development of the suite of financial systems operating within MBIE.

 

About the role:

This is a great time to join MBIE's Finance and Performance group, as we begin our automation journey.

An exciting opportunity has come about for a senior business analyst to join our small, vibrant team. This role reports to the Systems Manager within the financial systems team. 

In this role you will be providing leadership in the areas of planning, requirements analysis & change management practices in support of the service delivery lifecycle being developed for our financial systems software work programme. You will also ensure practices are consistent and of the highest quality. If you are looking to join a large, complex organisation where the work is varied and deals with lots of internal stakeholders, providing strong financial and relevant commercial expertise to the business then please read on.

Skills and Experience:

We are keen to hear from you if you have:

  • Extensive experience with Technology One system, preferable
  • Experience working in a focused service delivery lifecycle environment, including planning, requirements gathering, solutions design, testing, change control management.
  • Strong user documentation skills 
  • Proven internal control and application administration management
  • Demonstrated problem analysis skills and sound judgement
  • Previous public sector experience is preferred but not essential
  • An ability to convey content in a jargon free way that engages and meets the needs of the audience
  • The ability to quickly establish and build strong working relationships and to develop trust and credibility with senior managers, staff and key internal and external stakeholders
  • A proactive, can-do attitude with a high level of initiative, sound judgement and discretion
  • Exceptional teamwork and collaborative abilities and a willingness to share knowledge and expertise with others
  • Highly developed communication and writing skills 
  • A strong customer focus.
