Cyclic Foreperson

We work closely with the Waipa District Council to deliver general road maintenance in the Waipa area. 

We have a permanent, full-time position for a Cyclic Foreperson based at our Waikato, Te Awamutu branch.  You will be on a rotating on-call duty roster and need to be able to work the occasional night shift. 

You will liaise with key staff to ensure the efficient implementation of physical works. You will spend time driving the network and completing routine road maintenance activities and minor roading repairs with your Labourer.  These works include culvert & drainage, pavement & footpath and non-structural bridge maintenance, as well as emergency ice response, sweeping, litter collection, tree trimming, traffic management and after hours incident response. 

• At least 5 years’ road maintenance experience 

• Ability to manage, coach and train crew members 

• Full current Class 2 licence is a must, WTR endorsement would be advantageous

• Level 1 STMS qualification is essential

• Experience in concrete and hand laying of Asphalt would be advantageous

• Previous experience using RAM desired but not essential

• Commitment to the highest standards of health and safety 

• Demonstrated ability, willingness and commitment to be multi-skilled and up-skilled

• A reasonable level of physical fitness, due to the physical nature of the position

• Be a reliable, honest, flexible team-player
