This is a unique opportunity to lead and drive the growth of a highly successful structural steel fabrication company in the New Zealand market.
Operating for over 15 years, the company is established in Australia, South America and China and provides steel to countries and projects globally. The company provides fully integrated pre-engineered solutions for the construction sector, covering design, manufacturing, installation, project management and aftersales service. They have delivered projects for global names in the commercial, civil infrastructure, industrial, residential, retail, transport and power sectors.
The company is now seeking to continue to grow the business and sales in New Zealand by hiring a General Manager / Commercial Business Development Manager in Auckland to cover the whole country. Candidates will have extensive knowledge and experience of the NZ structural steel industry, a strong network of contacts and the ability to bring on board clients for the long term.
The salary for the position is $160,000 - 200,000 per annum with a generous commission schedule based on sales and a vehicle. Total remuneration will realistically be well in excess of $200,000 per annum.
Responsibilities of the position are to create and expand business opportunities and sales; develop/visit/manage client relationships; assist engineers on project bids with pricing and estimation; and facilitating communication with clients during the project implementation process. The company has a new operating base in Auckland; an operational and commercial team will be recruited and developed in due course in addition to a new workshop being established.
In order to be considered, candidates must have the following key attributes:
- 10 years or more experience in the structural steel industry in New Zealand
- Proven business development and structural steel sales records within the structural steel industry in New Zealand
- Existing network of contacts and relationships within the construction industry and structural steel industry
