Based in New Plymouth, this employer is a global leader in their sector. Key to the ongoing success of their operation is the efficient planning and scheduling of asset maintenance and turnaround to ensure that their facilities run without interruption. This position requires a candidate with proven experience, practical knowledge and a talent for planning and scheduling asset maintenance in a live production environment. 

Key skills required:

  • Mechanical, electrical or relevant industrial trade qualification 
  • Ability to provide technical leadership and management of a team
  • Strong relationship building ability
  • Ability to identify and prioritise work to meet deadlines
  • Expertise in project / programme management
  • Ability to utilise a computer based maintenance management system
  • Effective communication and influencing skills
  • Ability to manage internal resources and external Contractors 
  • Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical people in simple terms
  • Constant focus on meeting deadlines

Key responsibilities:

  • Develop the planning and scheduling functions to enhance ability to deliver work
  • Prepare and implement maintenance schedules
  • Ensure turnarounds meet business expectations 
  • Actively manage employees and contractors to ensure plans are delivered
  • Coach and develop the service team to enhance their capabilities
  • Work closely with Managers to minimise disruption of planned work to the wider operation
  • Monitor actual progress to ensure activities are carried out to schedule
  • Demonstrate Health and Safety leadership
  • Optimise efficiency of work plans
  • Develop effective reporting systems and processes

Primarily focused on ensuring the efficient planning and scheduling of maintenance activities of existing facilities, you may also be involved in the planning of plant upgrades and future capital projects.
