The job holder will report to the General Manager and will:

• Ensure that Maxbuild’s management systems continue to comply with their accreditations and pass external audits
• Audit and monitor Maxbuild’s activites to ensure that they comply with internal policies and procedures with prompt reporting of non compliances,  proposal of system changes where required, and communicating with employees to ensure policies and procedures are complied with.
• Recruit employees at all levels of the organisation to enable Maxbuild to achieve its business plan.
• Maintain HR records and assist with Personal Performance Reviews.
• Ensure Maxbuild staff and workforce are trained to meet national legislative requirements and specific customer requirements and are competent to undertake their daily work
• Assist with investigation of accidents, incidents and near misses, helping to identify the root causes and ensuring that the company learns from the event

The ideal candidate for this role will have:

• 5 years or more experience in a Human Resources and / or Quality Systems Management roles
• A thorough understanding of New Zealand HR legislation
• A thorough understanding of ISO 9001, 14001 and 18001
• An unrestricted driving licence enabling travel to project sites
• Good verbal communication skills and the ability to influence at all levels

In addition, an understanding of construction industry health and safety practices would be an advantage.
