Leading NZ steel building company Donovan Group NZ is looking for an experienced hands on Construction Supervisor to implement the construction program timetable and manage the construction team for Donovan Group Modular and firewall panels.

Working in our factory on Fraser St, Whangarei you will have a proven work history of successfully maintaining and developing operational standards, coordinating subcontractors, providing construction advice and training and ensuring construction works are carried out safely, of high quality, within cost and on schedule

    Key responsibilities

    • QA/QS checks, reviews & holds - as per supplied documentation
    • Construction methodology implementation of our residential prefabricated units and firewall panels
    • Allocating and managing workforce and tasks efficiently and effectively
    • Provide leadership in relation to quality workmanship, timely delivery and health and safety
    • Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following and enforcing standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.
    • Correlation of building documentation - WDC inspection
    • Ordering/Takeoff where required
    • Cover Manager Duties in the Manager's absence

    Skills and experience required:

    • Proven experience leading or supervising a team within a construction environment.
    • Have recognised Trade Qualifications in Carpentry or appropriate time served - LBP preferred.
    • Ability to build a successful team with the Manager.
    • Demonstrate competency in carpentry work.
    • Advanced knowledge of construction management processes, means, methods and materials.
    • Expert knowledge of building products, construction details and relevant rules, regulations and quality standards.
    • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications and building plans.

    We are looking for a skilled, reliable and capable leader who is organised and enjoys being in the thick of things. A positive attitude, strong communication skills, and a commitment to competent workmanship is required to ensure the delivery of our prefabricated residential units and firewall panel orders on time and to a high standard.
