Company Brief:
Franklin Smith are currently working on behalf of one of New Zealand’s major commercial construction companies in the search for a Senior Site Manager/ Project Manager. This position will require a lot of client liaison therefore a strong communicator will be advantageous.
Project:
Major multi story commercial project based in central Auckland. Candidates seeking to apply for this role must have a previous track record in successful project delivery of major commercial construction projects.
Responsibilities:
- The senior site manager/ project manager will be responsible for the project management of Construction projects up to the value of $15m.
- You will have overall responsibility for the projects on site, and the allocation of work involved in these projects.
- Managing and working closely with the Pre-Contracts and Contracts team
- Ensure that projects are delivered on time, in budget and to specification whilst adhering to legal compliance and regulations
- Full contract management of several projects from initiation through pre-construction, site mobilisation, construction and handover to client in a work package delivery model
- You will be directly responsible for all project specific safety, quality, budget and construction programmes
- Providing guidance and support to the Site Management and operational teams
- Responsible for client side deliverables, programmes, risk assessments, method statements, and site records
- Practical buildability assessment & input
- Material scheduling and purchase requisitions
- Labour and subcontractor site management & motivation
- Taking detailed notes on Health & Safety, risk assessment and method statements
- Quality management responsibility on site for the process and final product
- Maintain professional relationships with clients and consultants
Requirements
- Have minimum 7 years' experience at Senior Site Management/ Project Management level within the construction sector
- Must be able to deliver projects from foundation to finish on high end commercial projects throughout New Zealand.
- Excellent communication and negotiation Skills
- Proven ability to build and maintain efficient and professional Client relationships
- Proven experience in managing both sub-contractors and directly employed tradesmen
- Excellent Commercial understanding
- Be able to produce programmes, plan projects and procure materials
- Work well within a team and organise site operative’s daily
- Relevant degree or qualifications advantageous
