We have an opportunity for an experienced Project Manager to join us in the sunny Bay of Plenty. Tauranga is experiencing a surge in business confidence and commercial property projects. Hawkins is right at the heart of the action. Right now we're building the University of Waikato's Tauranga CBD campus, the new Farmers Development in the city centre, Tauranga Crossing Stage 2 and Zespri's new head office at Mount Maunganui.

Hawkins is big enough to tackle anything, yet small enough to be agile. Complex projects are our specialty, underpinned by our empowered approach to Health and Safety. Our expert teams throughout New Zealand deliver transformational projects including high-end fitouts, refurbishments and education, health and special purpose facilities.

About you

You'll be a seasoned Project Manager who has a proven record of ensuring the requirements of safety, quality, cost are time are maintained through the duration of our projects.  You'll ideally have worked in a variety of sectors within the commercial construction industry. In this role you'll have plenty of interaction with Site Management, Quantity Surveyors, Engineers and clients, so you'll need to be a natural at developing and maintaining great relationships.

What we're looking for

  • A can-do attitude and work ethic
  • Proven experience as a Project Manager, on a range of projects of $100m+ in value
  • Proven track record working across multiple projects at one time
  • Strong programming skills with proficiency in Microsoft Project
  • Project reporting experience with respect to programme, financial status, quality and Health & Safety
  • Experience managing performance of subcontractors
  • Strong team leadership skills, with the ability to motivate staff by positive means to increase production and output
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • The ability to manage the key requirements: time, cost, quality, HSE and client management.
