The company
Join our clients’ experienced local and international team who are embarking on an innovative programme of investment and construction in the hotel market. Their first project is the construction of an iconic new upmarket luxury hotel on the lake’s edge in Queenstown, New Zealand. This is your chance to add fresh international experience to your portfolio.
Construction will include an integrated 8-storey hotel, adjacent apartment and townhouse complex. With 200 hotel rooms, restaurants, bars, conference facilities, health club, spa, back of house facilities and infrastructure - this is a unique opportunity to work in one of New Zealand’s most remarkable alpine destinations.
The role
Anticipated project start date is September 2018. The successful candidates will be joining a team of national and internationally qualified specialists, requiring significant experience on commercial builds. The role will include a range of duties and leading teams. Key to this role will be your ability to work to the highest standards while maintaining a safe workplace at all times and achieving production deadlines.
What you will need to succeed:
- Producing quantities of materials from plan and on-site
- Day to day running of the site
- Delegating tasks to Carpenters, Labourers and Builders
- Ensuring efficiency and productivity is maintained
- Liaising with and organizing the sub-contractors in a timely manner
- Be able to work unsupervised and solve problems
- Competent reading & understanding plans, specs & building regulations
- Full tool kit (advantage)
- Show initiative to complete tasks to the highest standard and within time-frames
- Great people skills to work alongside team members and customers
- You will enjoy working as part of a dynamic multi-disciplinary international team
- Be trade qualified and have at least 3 years of experience
- Able to work independently
- Be physically fit, have a strong work ethic and be reliable
- Have strong health & safety practices
- Have a passion for the industry
- Able to work to deadlines
- Have good communication skills
- Work to a very high standard
- EWP: Working at Heights (advantage)
- Be a team player
- Have a current clean New Zealand driver's licence
