We are currently looking to hire a Quantity Surveyor to support our Transport Services Civil and Roading Construction team based in Christchurch. Our team currently has a full programme of projects ranging from short intensity jobs to $4M renewals across the Canterbury region.
Key deliverables:
- Sustainable business profitability
- Increased commercial, contractual and risk awareness within the business and Transport Services
- Ensuring customer and stakeholder relationships are enhanced and effective on all projects
- Increased predictability on project financial outcomes – Accurate cost reporting
- Ensuring contractual entitlement is maximised whilst minimising costs
- Estimating variations
- Procurement
- Project Administration
- Key support to Contract Managers
What we are looking for:
You will need to be commercially focussed and have proven ability to work simultaneously across multiple projects to deliver a quality product on time, on budget and to the client's satisfaction. You will have extensive experience working in a similar role on Projects with values $150k to $4M preferably, where you have been responsible for contractual, financial and risk management.
You will have a strong focus on profitability as well as holding a relevant tertiary qualification (BSc, RICS, NZCQS or equivalent).
You will have at least 5 years' experience in a QS role preferably with contractors on civil infrastructure projects and it is essential to have experience of providing management support in the construction or infrastructure sectors.
A natural leader, your strong customer focus including the ability to identify project solutions that add customer value and deliver return straight to the bottom line will be strongly regarded as will the ability to influence and negotiate effectively with clients and sub-contractors.
