Detail information about job Development Manager. Terms and conditions vacancy

  • Are you experienced in new land acquisition?
  • Are you looking to join a NZ owned organisation that is in growth mode?
  • Great employee benefits and competitive remuneration

Summerset is one of NZ's fastest growing companies and the third largest retirement village operator in the country, publically listed and ranked in the top NZX50 companies. We design, procure, cost control, build and operate retirement village's right across New Zealand. We are proud of our dynamic and nimble work environment as well as our equally diverse workforce.

The 2018 year will see Summerset developing across 10 projects throughout New Zealand and delivering in excess of 450 units. This will see Summerset's annual development budget for 2018 exceed $150M. Key pipeline projects beyond 2018 are across the Auckland region and throughout New Zealand.

Due to Summerset's continued growth a new opportunity has arisen in the Development Management Team for a fixed term of 12 months.

Reporting to the Senior Development Manager, your focus will be on undertaking due diligence for site acquisitions; master planning and refinement of designs. You will also oversee achieving local authority consents; chairing Project Control Groups; achieving internal approvals from Summerset's executive; assisting in programme management to achieve annual deliveries; and engagement with internal and external stakeholders - this will involve consultation and mediation meetings.

You will have previous relevant experience in property acquisitions, have excellent interpersonal skills with a collaborative work style and apply a 'can-do' approach to risk management, understanding the commercial realities of each project.

What's in it for you? The work activity that you will be exposed to in this role will be across a number of geographically dispersed sites and villages, an interesting mix of low rise to complex medium and high rise projects. Our aim is to create a great employee experience, to collaborate to find ways to improve, and support each other. To recognise the important work you do for our residents, we offer social sporting teams, health cover, discounts at a range of suppliers and more.

Applicants for this position should have NZ residency or a valid NZ work permit.
