We are seeking to appoint an experienced Senior Project Manager with a recognised name in contracting to take responsibility for multiple projects relating to large-scale brownfields land development in North-West Auckland. This is part of a nationally significant construction program of works.
The role focus is to deliver multiple key projects in line with time, cost, quality and compliance aspects. The role demands a strong focus on leadership to achieve the required outcomes of the contract and the promotion of high performance standards.
Key responsibilities will be:
- Demonstrating a commitment to a safe culture through, personal example, leadership and monitoring of work practices
- Regular high-level engagement with the client, managing relationships and interacting on scope and design changes
- Ensuring that the obligations of the contract are understood and communicated effectively to the responsible people
- Maintaining strong communication channels with all key stakeholders
- Preparing management plans, involvement in project planning and setting key milestones
- Ensuring the effective allocation of resources to achieve outcomes at optimal cost
- Effective forecasting and management of cost, to ensure the profitability of the contract
- Leading and mentoring the team whilst managing work performance
- Compliance with all policies, procedures and legal requirements, and managing project risk
To be successful in this role you will require:
- A Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering, NZCE or relevant qualification
- Senior level management experience in the civil construction industry
- Minimum of 10 years experience in civil engineering positions which have provided a base of technical construction experience
- Proven accountability for results
- Experience on land development projects a plus
